PDS™ Antibacterial Violet Monofilament (Polydioxanone) Absorbable Surgical Suture, 3-0, 27", RB-1 is a sterile, synthetic absorbable suture engineered from polydioxanone and coated with triclosan to provide antibacterial protection. The suture is designed to kill bacteria and inhibit colonization on the suture surface, targeting common pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis. This antimicrobial barrier is intended to reduce the risk of surgical site infections.

Constructed as a monofilament, the suture offers smooth tissue passage, low drag, and reduced tissue trauma. It is also characterized by enhanced pliability and strength compared to earlier monofilament designs, improving intraoperative handling and knot security without compromising performance or safety.

This configuration features a 27-inch violet suture attached to an RB-1 taper point needle. The 3-0 size makes it well-suited for soft tissue approximation in general surgery, gynecology, urology, and situations where infection control and extended support are critical.
